Recommended Morning Remembrances
Many morning remembrances are highlighted in the Noble Prophet’s traditions. Below are some noteworthy examples:
- (We have awakened on the innate nature of Islam, on the word of sincerity, on the religion of our Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, and on the creed of our father Abraham, a true Muslim. We are not of the polytheists).
- (In the name of Allah, with whose name nothing can cause harm in the heavens or the earth, and He is the All-Hearing, All-Knowing.) (Repeat three times).
- (Glory be to Allah and praise be to Him, there is no power except with Allah. What Allah wills happens, and what He does not will does not happen. I know that Allah has power over all things and that Allah encompasses all knowledge.) Whoever says this in the morning will be protected until the evening, and whoever says it in the evening will be protected until the morning.
- (Glory be to Allah and praise Him one hundred times).
- (O Allah, by You we have entered the morning and by You we enter the evening, by You we live and by You we die, and to You is the final return. When evening comes, say: O Allah, by You we have entered the evening, by You we have risen, by You we live and by You we die, and to You is the resurrection).
- (I am content with Allah as a Lord, with Islam as a religion, and with Muhammad as a Messenger.) Whoever says this will enter paradise.
- (O Allah, Knower of the unseen and the witness, Creator of the heavens and the earth, Lord of everything and its Sovereign, I bear witness that there is no deity but You. I seek refuge in You from the evil of my soul, the evil of Satan, and his associates.) Say this upon waking, in the evening, and before sleeping.
- (O Allah, whatever blessing I have in the morning or any of Your creation, it is from You alone, without partner. To You belongs all praise and thanks.) Whoever says this in the morning has fulfilled the gratitude for the day, and likewise in the evening has fulfilled the gratitude for the night.
- (Glory be to Allah and praise be to Him, according to the number of His creation, His satisfaction, the weight of His Throne, and the ink of His words.) Repeat this three times.
- (Allah is sufficient for me; there is no deity except Him. I have placed my trust in Him, and He is the Lord of the Mighty Throne.) Say this seven times, for whoever says it, Allah will suffice for their concerns in this world and the Hereafter.
- (O Allah, this morning I bear witness to You, and I bear witness to the bearers of Your Throne, Your angels, and all of Your creation that You are Allah, there is no deity except You, and that Muhammad is Your Servant and Messenger.)
- (O Allah, whatever blessing I wake up with, or anyone among Your creation, it is from You alone, without partner. To You belongs all praise and thanks.) Those who say it upon waking and in the evening have fulfilled the gratitude for that day.
- (We have entered the morning and the sovereignty belongs to Allah and all praise is for Him. There is no deity except Allah alone, with no partner. To Him belongs sovereignty and praise, and He has power over all things. O Lord, I ask You for the best of this day and the best of what follows, and I seek refuge in You from the evil of this day and the evil of what follows. O Lord, I seek refuge with You from laziness and the evil of old age. O Lord, I seek refuge with You from punishment in the Fire and punishment in the grave.)
- (O Allah, send blessings and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad. It was mentioned in a hadith: (Whoever sends blessings upon me ten times in the morning and ten times in the evening will have my intercession on the Day of Judgment.)
- (I seek forgiveness from Allah, the Most Great, who has no deity but Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer, and I turn to Him in repentance.)
- (There is no deity but Allah alone, with no partner. To Him belongs sovereignty and praise, and He has power over all things.)
Recommended Quranic Verses for Morning Remembrances
Numerous hadiths emphasize the importance of reciting certain verses and chapters of the Quran in the morning. Here are some notable ones:
- Allah, the Exalted, says: (Allah! There is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great).
- Reciting Surah Al-Ikhlas and the two Mu’awwidhat three times each. The Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said: (Recite Surah Al-Ikhlas and the two Mu’awwidhat when the evening comes and when the morning arrives, three times each, and they will suffice you in everything).
- Surah Al-Ikhlas, Allah says: (Say, “He is Allah, [who is] One, Allah, the Eternal Refuge. He neither begets nor is born, nor is there to Him any equivalent.”)
- Surah Al-Falaq, Allah says: (Say, “I seek refuge in the Lord of daybreak from the evil of that which He created and from the evil of darkness when it settles and from the evil of the blowers in knots and from the evil of an envious when he envies.”)[21]
- Surah An-Nas, Allah says: (Say, “I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind, the Sovereign of mankind, the God of mankind, from the evil of the sneaking whisperer who withdraws, who whispers in the breasts of mankind, among jinn and among mankind.”)[22]
- Allah, the Exalted, also states: (My Lord, I seek refuge with You from the incitements of the devils and I seek refuge with You, my Lord, lest they be present with me.)[23]
- Allah says: (Allah is sufficient for me; there is no deity except Him; upon Him I have relied; and He is the Lord of the Mighty Throne.)[24]

Diverse and Beautiful Supplications
How beautiful is the morning when we begin it by remembering Allah—blessed and exalted be He—and by supplicating to Him! The heart fills with tranquility, and the soul becomes content throughout the day. Some beautiful supplications we use to call upon Allah include:
- O Allah, in this morning, make what You know to be good for us easy to attain; our hearts are in Your hands, so grant them steadfastness and comfort.
- O Lord, expand our chests, ease our affairs, and remove the knot from our tongues so that they may understand our words.
- O Allah, You who have distributed sustenance with Your generosity and whose decree brings forth dawn, grant us the highest ranks in this world and the finest abodes in the Hereafter.
- O Lord, I call upon You by Your might and majesty not to make any of my needs difficult, nor to make matters overwhelming for me, nor to bring me down, nor to expose my secrets, nor to break my back.
- O Allah, make our supplications unanswered, grant us provisions that cannot be counted, and open for us a door to Paradise that cannot be closed.
- O Allah, grant us solace in our affairs, a way out of every hardship, and provide us with sustenance from where we least expect it; grant us lawful and abundant sustenance.
- O Allah, we ask You to open the doors of response to our supplications, O You who respond when the distressed calls, O You who says to a thing “be” and it is. O Allah, do not let us return disappointed, and do not turn us away from the sea of Your generosity, unsuccessful or misled or misinformed. Forgive us on the Day of Judgment with Your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful.
- O Allah, I ask You by the light of Your face, which illuminated the heavens and the earth, to place my loved ones in Your protection, shelter, and care. O Allah, adorn them with health and well-being, provide them from Your abundant sustenance, and accept their deeds with excellent acceptance, O Allah.
- O Allah, grant us contentment and satisfaction with what You have decreed for us, and make us among those who are grateful for Your blessings upon us.
- O Lord, endow me with an expansive heart, radiant spirit, and strong will that help me in what pleases You among Your servants—comforting the weak, the broken, the deprived, the distressed, and the sorrowful. Let this be my solace in life, the joy of my soul, the occupation of my time, and the delight of my eyes.
- O Allah, keep me away from bad companions, protect me from sins and transgressions. O Allah, forgive me my sins, purify my heart, and have mercy on me with Your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful.
- O Allah, I seek Your forgiveness for all my sins and faults, both the ones I know and those I do not know. O Allah, unite us in Your Gardens of Bliss and do not separate us from our families and loved ones after death, O Lord of the worlds.
- O Allah, praise be to You until You are pleased, and when You are pleased, and after You are pleased. O Allah, praise be to You according to the number of Your creation, the satisfaction of Yourself, the weight of Your Throne, and the ink of Your words. O Allah, praise be to You for Islam, and praise be to You for guiding us. O Allah, praise be to You and thanks for all the blessings You have bestowed upon us.
- O Reliever of distress, O Remover of grief, relieve my distress and ease my affairs. Have mercy on my weakness and limited capacity, and grant me provisions from where I do not expect, O Lord of the worlds, O Affectionate, O Generous, O Controller of the heavens and the earth, O Guide of hearts, guide my heart. O Rescuer, rescue me, rescue me, rescue me.
- O Allah, to You I have stretched out my hands, and in what You possess I have placed my greatest hopes. Accept my repentance, and have mercy on my weakness, forgive my sins, and accept my excuse. Grant me a portion of every good, and guide me to every good path through Your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful.
- O Allah, I submit to You, I believe in You, I rely on You, and I contend with You. Forgive me what I have forwarded and what I have postponed, what I have concealed and what I have disclosed; You are the First and the Last, there is no deity except You.
- O Allah, we ask You by Your greatest name, which if You are called upon You answer, and if asked You give, and by all Your beautiful names, those we know and those we do not, to respond to our supplications, fulfill our wishes, meet our needs, relieve our distresses, forgive our sins, conceal our faults, accept our repentance, grant us health, and pardon us. Reform our families and offspring, and have mercy on us with Your vast mercy, a mercy that will make us independent of the mercy of anyone besides You.
