Short Friday Remembrances

Zikrs (Remembrances)

The practice of zikr is a cherished way for Muslims to draw closer to Allah, expressing their sorrow and longing through various forms of remembrance. Zikrs come in different types, each designated for specific times, such as morning and evening recitations, as well as special moments like Friday—the blessed day when prayers and supplications to Allah are particularly encouraged. In this article, we present a collection of beautiful zikrs specific to Friday.

Short Friday Zikrs

  • May Allah adorn your Friday with the fragrances of paradise, shelter you under its orchards, provide you with the refreshing waters of its stream, and allow you to make the most of this day by frequently sending blessings upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad, reciting Surah Al-Kahf, and being among those who are saved on the Day of Resurrection, steadfast in truth until we meet our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
  • Allah is the Greatest; there is nothing comparable to Him in the heavens or on the earth. He is the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing. O Allah, I ask You in my prayers and supplications for blessings that purify my heart, relieve my distress, forgive my sins, rectify my affairs, enrich my needs, ward off my evils, dispel my worries and grief, heal my ailments, fulfill my debts, lighten my sorrows, gather my scattered heart, and brighten my face, O Most Merciful of the merciful.
  • On this Friday, I ask Allah to instill the love of His righteous servants within you, to quench your thirst with the hands of His Prophet, to provide shelter for you in paradise, to embrace you with His mercy, to please you with His decrees, to enrich you with His bounty, to guide you in His obedience, to save you from His punishment, and to shield you from the evil of envious individuals.
  • O Allah, You are the Light of the heavens and the earth, the Pillar of the heavens and the earth, the Compeller of the heavens and the earth, the Reckoner of the heavens and the earth, the Inheritor of the heavens and the earth, the Owner of the heavens and the earth, the Magnificent in the heavens and the earth, the All-Knowing of the heavens and the earth, the Sustainer of the heavens and the earth, the Most Gracious in this world and Most Merciful in the Hereafter.
  • In the name of Allah, we have awoken and entered the evening. I bear witness that there is no deity but Allah, and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, and that Paradise is real and Hell is real, and that the Hour is coming without a doubt, and that Allah will resurrect those in their graves. Praise be to Allah, who is only sought for His grace and there is no other sustainer. Allah is the Greatest; there is nothing comparable to Him in the heavens or on the earth, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing.
  • All praise is due to Allah, the First before creation and life, and the Last after the annihilation of all things, the All-Knowing who does not forget those who remember Him, nor diminishes the gratitude of the thankful, nor disappoints those who call upon Him, nor cuts off the hopes of those who place their trust in Him. O Allah, I bear witness and You suffice as a witness, and I testify with all Your angels, those who dwell in Your heavens, bearers of Your Throne, and with all the Prophets and Messengers You have sent, and of all the creatures You have created, that I bear witness that You are Allah; there is no deity but You alone, without partner, equal, or any change in Your words. And that Muhammad, may peace be upon him and his family, is Your servant and Messenger, who conveyed Your message to the servants and struggled in Your cause with the greatest struggle, heralding the truths of reward and warning of the truths of punishment. O Allah, keep me steadfast in Your religion as long as You grant me life, and do not let my heart deviate after You have guided me. Grant me mercy from Yourself; indeed, You are the Bestower. Send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad. Make me among his followers and supporters, gather me in his company, and enable me to fulfill the obligations of the Friday prayers and the acts of worship You have prescribed for it. You are the Exalted, the Wise.
  • O Allah, Ever-Living, Sustainer, Owner of Glory and Honor, I ask You by Your most magnificent and blessed names, those which You favor most, that if called upon, You would answer, if asked for mercy, You would extend it, and if relief is sought from You, You would grant it. Make us among those accepted in this world and among those who race toward Your lofty ranks. Forgive my sins and my faults and all Muslims. O Allah, forgive me, grant me health, pardon me, guide me to Your straight path, and have mercy upon me, O Most Merciful of the merciful. In Your mercy, I seek assistance. Glory be to Allah, praise be to Allah, there is no deity but Allah, Allah is the Greatest, and to Allah be all praise. I seek forgiveness from Allah in number equal to His creations, His satisfaction, the weight of His Throne, and the ink of His words. O Allah, forgive all Muslims, the living among them and those who have passed away, and admit them into Your gardens, and protect them from Your punishment. All praise is due to You, and send blessings upon the noblest of creation, the Master of the Messengers, Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family) and all his companions.
  • May Allah fill your Friday morning with light, your midday with joy, your afternoon with glad tidings, and your sunset with forgiveness. May He grant you an answered prayer, bestow upon you an abundant provision, and open a door for you into paradise that will never be closed.
  • O Allah, I ask You in my prayers and supplications for blessings that purify my heart, reveal my distress, forgive my sins, rectify my affairs, enrich my needs, ward off my evils, dispel my worries and grief, heal my ailments, fulfill my debts, lighten my sorrows, gather my scattered heart, and brighten my face, O Most Merciful of the merciful.
  • O You Who are worthy of supplication and able to respond, O Lord, You are worthy of supplication and capable of answering. I ask You not to leave me disappointed, for he who has You as a Master is never disappointed. Grant him joy in his heart, give him what he wishes, and please his eyes with what he loves and desires. Never deprive him of Your blessings, and fill his heart with faith and the Qur’an. Grant him eternal bliss in paradise.
  • O Lord, in Your knowledge, I have loved this companion, so by Your mercy, make every path expansive for them, and rescue them from every worry and hardship.
  • With the morning breezes, here is this gift: May Allah fill your heart with light, protect you from dangers, grant you happiness as long as the night and day endure, and make your life a life of righteousness and goodness.
  • There is no deity but Allah, the True King, the Clear Truth. There is no deity but Allah, the Absolute Justice. There is no deity but Allah, our Lord and the Lord of our forefathers. Glory be to You; indeed, I was among the wrongdoers. There is no deity but Allah alone without partner; to Him belongs the dominion and praise; He grants life and causes death, and He is Alive and does not die. In His hand is all good, and to Him is the ultimate return, and He is capable of all things. There is no deity but Allah—acknowledging His Lordship; Glory be to Allah, humbling ourselves before His greatness. O Allah, You are the Light of the heavens and the earth, the Pillar of the heavens and the earth, the Compeller of the heavens and the earth, the Reckoner of the heavens and the earth, the Inheritor of the heavens and the earth, the Owner of the heavens and the earth, the Magnificent in the heavens and the earth, the All-Knowing of the heavens and the earth, the Sustainer of the heavens and the earth, the Most Gracious in this world and Most Merciful in the Hereafter.
  • O Allah, I ask You; to You belongs all praise. There is no deity but You, the Compassionate, the Benefactor, Creator of the heavens and the earth, Possessor of Glory and Honor. By Your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful.
  • O Allah, Ever-Living, Sustainer, Owner of Glory and Honor, guide us among those whom You have guided, grant us health among those whom You have granted health, and protect us from the evils of what You have decreed for us with Your mercy, for You decree with justice, and no decree can be made against You. We believe in Your Book that You have revealed and in the Prophet that You have sent. So forgive us for our past and future sins, our hidden and our public sins. You know best what we have done. You are the First and the Last, and You are capable of all things.
