Recommended Prayers on the Night of Decree

Praiseworthy Supplications for Laylat al-Qadr

The Significance of Supplication

One of the most effective ways for an individual to draw closer to Allah, the Exalted, is through supplication. As Allah Almighty states in the Qur’an: “And your Lord says, ‘Call upon Me; I will respond to you.’ Indeed, those who disdain My worship will enter Hell, humbled.” The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) also emphasized the importance of supplication, saying: “Supplication benefits from what has been decreed and from what has yet to be decreed. So, O servants of Allah, engage in supplication.”

Regarding supplication on Laylat al-Qadr, it was narrated that Umm al-Mu’minin Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) asked the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), “O Messenger of Allah, if I encounter Laylat al-Qadr, what should I say?” He replied, “Say: ‘O Allah, indeed, You are Most Forgiving, and You love forgiveness; so forgive me.’
