Children of Erdoğan
Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was born on February 26, 1954, in Rize, Turkey. He is a prominent Turkish politician who served as Prime Minister from 2003 to 2014 and has been the President of Turkey since 2014. In 1978, he married Emine Gülbaran and they have four children together: two sons and two daughters.
Ahmet Burak Erdoğan
Ahmet Burak Erdoğan, the eldest son of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, was born on June 4, 1979, in Istanbul. He graduated from Bilkent University in 2001, establishing a foundation for his professional journey.
Bilal Erdoğan
Bilal Erdoğan, born on April 23, 1981, is the second son and fourth child in the Erdoğan family. He completed his secondary education at Kartal Anadolu Imam Hatip High School in 1999. Subsequently, he attended Harvard University in Boston, graduating in 2003, where he earned a master’s degree in Public Administration. He also served for 21 days in military service as part of Turkey’s mandatory conscription laws in Burdur.
In 2003, Bilal Erdoğan married Brian Özener in a ceremony attended by distinguished guests, including Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi. The couple has two sons: Ömer Tayyip and Ali Tahir.
Sümeyye Erdoğan
Sümeyye Erdoğan was born in Istanbul in 1985. After graduating from Imam Hatip High School in Kadıköy, she pursued higher education at Indiana University, focusing on Public and Environmental Affairs. Additionally, she studied Arabic at the University of Jordan. Sümeyye earned her master’s degree in Non-Governmental Organizations and Development from the London School of Economics’ Department of Social Policy.
She has served as an expert at the Statistical Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC) in Ankara, a subsidiary of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. Sümeyye has also worked as a political advisor to her father, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, during his time as Prime Minister. In 2013, she founded the Women and Democracy Association (KADEM).
Esra Erdoğan
Esra Erdoğan was born in Istanbul in 1983. She completed her secondary education at Kadıköy Imam Hatip High School and obtained her degree in Sociology and History from Indiana University in 2003. Esra later attained a master’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and in 2016, she continued her academic pursuits at the same institution, working towards a doctoral degree in Sociology.
