Authentic Sacred Hadiths
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) conveyed numerous authentic sacred hadiths attributed to Allah, covering various subjects. Among these are:
- The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) stated: “Allah, the Exalted, said: ‘Those who love each other for My glory will have pulpits of light, which the prophets and martyrs will envy.’
- The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) reported that Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, said: “Who is more unjust than he who creates like My creation? Let them create a grain or a tiny particle.”
- The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) narrated: “Allah says: ‘If My servant intends to commit a sin, do not record it against him unless he commits it. If he does, record it as it is. If he refrains from it for My sake, record it as a good deed for him. If he intends to perform a good deed but does not carry it out, record it as a good deed for him. If he performs it, record it for him as ten good deeds, up to seven hundred times.’
- The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) reported that Allah, the Exalted, stated: “Who is more unjust than he who attempts to create like My creation? Let them create a dust particle or a grain of barley.”
- The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) related: “Have you not observed what your Lord has spoken? He said: ‘I have bestowed a blessing upon My servants, and yet a group amongst them become disbelievers. They claim that the stars have power over the universe.’
- The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) narrated that Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, said: “The son of Adam offends Me; he curses time, while I am time; I alternately change night and day.”
Divine Affection Towards His Servants
The sacred hadiths encompass a multitude of meanings, particularly highlighting Allah’s love for His servants and His readiness to forgive those who turn to Him. Noteworthy hadiths include:
- The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: “Allah the Blessed and Exalted says: ‘O son of Adam, as long as you call upon Me and hope for My mercy, I will forgive you for whatever you have done without concern. O son of Adam, if your sins were to reach the skies and you then sought My forgiveness, I would forgive you; I would not care. O son of Adam, if you were to come to Me with the weight of the earth in sins, then meet Me without associating anything with Me, I would give you a similar weight in forgiveness.’
- The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) reported that Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, said: “O My servants, I have forbidden oppression upon Myself and made it forbidden among you. Therefore, do not oppress one another. O My servants, all of you are misguided, except for those whom I guide. Seek guidance from Me, and I shall guide you. O My servants, all of you are hungry, except for those whom I feed. Seek sustenance from Me, and I shall provide for you. O My servants, all of you are naked, except for those whom I clothe. Seek clothing from Me, and I shall clothe you. O My servants, you sin by night and by day, and I forgive all sins. So seek My forgiveness, and I will forgive you. O My servants, you cannot harm Me, nor can you benefit Me. O My servants, if your first and last, human and jinn were to gather in one place asking of Me, and I answered every individual’s request, that would not decrease from My kingdom more than a needle decreases when it is dipped into the ocean. O My servants, your actions are recorded for you; I will grant you your due. Whoever finds good should praise Allah, and whoever finds other than that should blame no one but himself.” In another narration, He stated: “I have forbidden oppression upon Myself and upon My servants, so do not oppress one another.”
- The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) reported that Allah said: “I have prepared for My righteous servants what no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and what has not crossed the heart of any human.”
- The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) narrated: “If a servant commits a sin—perhaps he said a wrong deed—and then says: ‘My Lord, I have sinned; forgive me,’ his Lord responds: ‘Does My servant not know that he has a Lord who forgives sin and repents for it? I have forgiven My servant.’ Then, he continues doing so, as often as he may sin until his Lord says: ‘I have forgiven My servant three times; let him do what he wishes.’
- Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, said: “I am with My servant when he remembers Me. If he remembers Me to himself, I remember him to Myself; and if he remembers Me in a gathering, I remember him in a gathering that is better than his. If he comes closer to Me by a handspan, I come closer to him by an arm’s length. If he comes closer to Me by an arm’s length, I come closer to him by a fathom. If he approaches Me walking, I come to him running.” In the narration by Ibn Numair, he stated: “I am according to the assumption of My servant about Me, and I am with him when he remembers Me.”
- When Allah loves a servant, He calls to Gabriel: “Indeed, Allah loves so-and-so, so love him.” Gabriel then loves him and announces in the heavens: “Indeed, Allah loves so-and-so, so love him.” The dwellers of heaven then love him, and acceptance is placed for him on earth.
Sacred Hadiths on Rewards for Actions
Numerous sacred hadiths highlight the merits or demerits of certain actions. Among these hadiths are:
- Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, said: “There was a man among those before you who was inflicted with a wound. He grew impatient, so he took a knife and cut his wrist. The blood did not stop until he died. Allah then said: ‘My servant hastened with his own life; I have forbidden him Paradise.’
- Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, said: “If I test My servant with his two beloved ones and he is patient, I will compensate him with Paradise instead of them.”
- Our Lord, the Blessed and Exalted, descends every night to the lowest heaven when there remains the final third of the night, saying: “Is there anyone who calls upon Me, so I may respond? Is there anyone who seeks of Me, so I may give him? Is there anyone who seeks forgiveness, so I may forgive him?”
- Allah, the Exalted, states: “My servant does not have a reward from Me if I take away one of his beloved ones from the world, and he expects reward for it, except Paradise.”
- Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, said: “O son of Adam, spend and I will spend on you.” He mentioned: “The right hand of Allah is full, and it does not decrease, whether by night or by day.”
- Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, said: “All the actions of the son of Adam are for him except for fasting, for it is for Me, and I shall reward him. The odor from the mouth of a fasting person is more pleasant to Allah than the scent of musk.”
- Allah, the Exalted, says: “Any servant of Mine who goes out fighting in My cause, seeking My pleasure, I guarantee that he will return to me with whatever he earned in terms of reward or spoils, and if I take him, I will forgive him, have mercy on him, and admit him to Paradise.”
