Prayers for Facilitating Marriage
While there are no specific prayers in Islamic texts dedicated explicitly to facilitating marriage, a Muslim can invoke the following prayers:
- O Allah, grant me ease and bless me with a righteous, pious, pure, and content spouse, someone who brings me comfort in this world and will be my companion in the hereafter.
- O Allah, guide my affairs for I lack the skill to manage them, and choose for me, for I am not proficient in choosing. Provide me with a kind and generous spouse who respects me and safeguards my interests in my presence and absence.
- O Allah, decree for me a marriage to someone who will lead me towards Your pleasure and assist me in my obedience to You.
- O Allah, I desire to marry; so provide me with a husband who is the most chaste and protective of my honor and wealth, blessed with abundant provisions and immense blessings. Additionally, grant me a righteous child who will be an asset to us.
- O Allah, marry me to a righteous man who brings delight to my sight and brings tranquility to my soul, O Lord of Glory and Honor.
- O Allah, You who have made the strong submissive to the weak, who appointed the jinn, winds, and devils to our Prophet Solomon, and who made iron and birds obedient to our Prophet David, and subdued fire for our Prophet Ibrahim: I beseech You to grant me a spouse who fears You, O Lord of the Worlds, with Your strength, might, and sovereignty. You are capable of this alone, with no partner beside You, O Compassionate, O Generous, O Lord of Glory and Honor, O Creator of the heavens and the earth, O Ever-Living, O Sustainer of all existence.
- O Allah, I ask You, out of my fear of falling into immorality, for the protection of my limbs, and for the righteousness of my deeds that I may do them sincerely. Grant me a righteous spouse who supports me in my religious and worldly affairs, for You are capable of all things.
- O Allah, forgive my sins, protect my chastity, and purify my heart. Grant me a spouse who is good for me and with whom I am good for in this life and the hereafter, in our decisions and outcomes, both now and in the future.
- O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the delay of my marriage and the slowness of my path. I ask You to bless me with better than I deserve and better than I hope for, and to instill contentment in both him and his family towards me, just as You instill contentment in me and my family towards him.
- O Allah, draw me closer to You, O Allah, draw me closer to You, O Allah, draw me closer to You. Make me among the patient and grateful. Grant me humility in my own eyes while allowing me to be perceived as great in the eyes of others.
- O Allah, You are the guide for the lost, the hope of those who seek, the reliever of worries, and the remover of distress. O Allah, bless us with marriage and suffice us with Your lawful provisions against the unlawful, O Generous One, O Lord of the Great Throne.
- O Allah, shower us with Your mercy, for You are the Most Merciful of the merciful.
- O Allah, I seek You by Your All-Knowing name, for You are fully aware of my state. By Your mercy, O Lord, grant me a virtuous husband who brings joy to my heart and eases my spirit.
- O Allah, I ask You by Your Greatest Name, which if invoked by anyone, You respond, and if someone calls for Your help through it, You aid them, and if anyone seeks victory through it, You grant it to them: bless me with marriage, O Lord, O Lord, O Lord, O Most Merciful of the merciful, O Lord of Glory and Honor.
- O Allah, I beseech You just as the Prophet Jonah did when he called out from the belly of the fish: “There is no deity except You; exalted are You; indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers.” Grant me a righteous spouse, and bless me with the establishment of a pious family through Your permission and generosity, O Most Generous of the Generous.
