Reflections on Friendship
- Friendship is a palace whose key is loyalty, nourished by hope and yielding the harvest of happiness.
- The term ‘friendship’ encompasses numerous meanings, the most beautiful of which are self-sacrifice for one another, liberation from isolation, and integration with others.
- Friendship resembles an umbrella; the heavier the rain, the more one realizes its necessity.
- Those confident in their friendships are not rattled by moments of disagreement; instead, they smile upon parting, knowing they will reunite soon.
- Strong connections foster great friendships.
- Friendship is the highest form of love, an eternal treasure symbolizing immortality, characterized by pure affection devoid of deceit, jealousy, or malice.
- When reflecting on painful past experiences or fearing the uncertain future, look beside you; your close friend will be there to support you.
- At times, friendship, much like love, faces significant threats that can lead to its demise, necessitating a delicate process to save it.
- True friendship is not measured by the number of years but by the sincerity of experiences shared.
- While some seek solace in priests, philosophers, or poets, I turn to friends.
- Friendship is akin to health; you only recognize its value once it is lost.
Thoughts on a True Friend
- Some individuals leave a remarkable impact on your life, while others are inconsequential; hence, choose your true friends wisely and be cautious of false friendships.
- Make each friend feel as though they are your closest and favorite; do this with sincerity, not deception.
- Friends are transparent souls connected by a profound bond that transforms their presence into a perpetual source of comfort and joy.
- A true friend remembers you with heartfelt prayers as you kneel in submission, tears streaming down their face, whispering for divine intervention.
- One flower can make my garden, and one friend can encompass my world.
- If my friends decide to leap off a bridge, I will not follow; instead, I will wait for them underneath to catch them.
- Life appears daunting and unattractive without your dearest friend.
- Often, friendships between strangers begin with a single word, a gentle gesture, or a rare moment of honesty, swiftly turning a stranger into a friend, sometimes unveiling the deepest secrets within moments, as they often don’t yet recognize it as friendship but rather as a temporary refuge for their inner struggles.
- The reality is that many may wish to harm you, but only your friend truly understands your pain.
- A friend multiplies your joys and diminishes your sorrows.
- Silence can foster genuine conversations among friends; you need not articulate your troubles to be understood effortlessly.
- Your true friend is one who senses your feelings the instant they meet you, unlike others you may have known for years.
- A loyal friend remains unchanged and genuine around you.
- A true friend is one who knows all your flaws and everything about you, yet still loves you.
Words on Strong Friendships
- Friendship is a single mind in two bodies.
- If friendship is your weakness, then you are the strongest person in the world.
- Friendship is not defined by grand gestures; it consists of countless small acts.
- True friendship is like good health; its value is understood only when it is lost.
- Stories of strong friendships resonate like those of passionate love, often beginning with confrontation, provocation, and the testing of strength.
- Friendship is a trap; it is the only snare we sometimes create with precision, making the fall more painful. Hence, I have become exceedingly cautious in my friendships, meticulous in my choices.
- Do not offer friendship to those seeking love, for you cannot quench the thirst of one craving bread.
- While love may be more beautiful than friendship, friendship endures longer than love.
- True friendship is akin to the relationship between the eye and the hand: when the hand hurts, the eye sheds tears, and when the eye weeps, the hand wipes them away.
- It is lovely to initiate a friendship with a smile, but even more beautiful is the effort to maintain that smile.
- If you have friends, you are indeed wealthy.
- Critique your friend in private but praise them publicly.
- Laughter isn’t a bad start to a friendship, and it remains the best conclusion to it.
- Friendship begins when you feel sincere with another without wearing masks.
- Tell me who you associate with, and I will tell you who you are.
- Associating with the righteous breeds goodness, while companionship with the wicked results in regret.
- Be wary of the foolish; the worst source of regret is the company of the vile.
- Explaining the essence of friendship is exceedingly challenging; it is not a lesson taught in schools. If you have not learned the true meaning of friendship, then you have not learned anything at all.
Excerpt from a Poem to a Friend
- By: Musaad Mohammed Ziad
O esteemed companions, I extend a greeting,
Sending it forth in festive evenings,
The night whispers of our meeting, welcoming,
As the branch dances like a skilled maiden.
The gentle breeze, grazing the stars,
Caresses these radiant faces.
And the dewdrops roll, refreshing,
Telling tales of years gone by.
We are enveloped by the light of God and His grace,
And shaded by the Sovereign of the expansive sky.
We come to congratulate a knight, dismounted,
Not to bid farewell to faded memories.
I see loyalty, united with love,
Ensuring joy among dear friends, born of light.
Do not be surprised if I say imagination has departed,
And I have lived alone in this oppressive life.
Today, inspiration withdraws from the poetry’s edge,
Turning its face away from me in dark nights.
Yet, I yearn for beautiful words,
As memories stir deep within.
Moments of joy awakened something in me,
Recalling years, like fleeting seconds.
I have always been faithful when dew united us,
And my heart is grateful.
Today, I feel in the depths of my being,
That what once was has become rare.
Do not assume that friendship is merely a meeting
Between loved ones, or lively feasts.
Friendship entwines with desire,
Like the heart entwined with the lungs, pulsing vigorously.
Drawing faith from its thresholds,
Enveloped in God’s generosity and brightness.
O faithful friend, be gentle,
For mere words about you cannot suffice.
And poetry’s steed may falter my zeal,
For perhaps the steed has failed its champions.
My complaint is towards my noble friends,
For they left a nobleman to face harsh circumstances.
