Verses Indicating God’s Power in the Creation of the Universe

Verses Highlighting God’s Power in Creating the Universe

The Holy Qur’an contains numerous verses that emphasize the greatness of Allah and His power in creating the universe. Some of these verses include:

  • Allah – The Exalted – states: (He created the heavens without any visible pillars, and He placed mountains on the earth so it does not sway with you, and He spread therein every type of creature. And We sent down from the heaven water, and We caused to grow therein plants of every noble kind).
  • Allah – The Exalted – also mentions: (Do you not see that Allah merges the night into day and merges the day into night? And He has subjected the sun and the moon, each running its course for an appointed time. And Allah is All-Aware of what you do).
  • Furthermore, Allah declares: (And He is the one who spread out the earth and made therein firm mountains and rivers, and of all fruits He made therein pairs. He covers the night with the day. Indeed, in that are signs for a people who reflect).
  • Additionally, Allah says: (And you see the earth barren, but when We send down upon it water, it quivers and swells, and it produces from every beautiful kind).

Verses Highlighting God’s Power in Creating Humanity

The Qur’an also speaks extensively about Allah’s power in the creation of human beings. Among these verses are:

  • Allah – The Exalted – proclaims: (O mankind, if you are in doubt about the Resurrection, then indeed, We created you from dust, then from a sperm-drop, then from a clinging clot, and then from a lump of meat, formed and unformed, that We may make clear to you. And We cause what We will to remain in the wombs for an appointed term, then We bring you out as infants; then you attain your maturity. And among you is he who is taken in death, and among you is he who is returned to the most decrepit old age).
  • Allah – The Exalted – further states: (We have certainly created man in the best of stature).
  • He also says: (Does man not see that We created him from a sperm-drop? Yet there he is, a manifest opponent).
  • Moreover, Allah mentions: (Then he was a clinging clot, so We created him and fashioned him, and made from him the two sexes, the male and the female).

Verses Highlighting God’s Power in Creating Plants

The Qur’an describes Allah’s power in the creation of plants through several verses. Key examples include:

  • Allah – The Exalted – states: (And He is the one who sends down from the heaven water, and We produce thereby crops of every kind. We bring forth from it green shoots, from which We produce grain stacked up, and from the palm trees, from their blooming flowers, clusters of dates hanging low, and gardens of grapevines, olives, and pomegranates, similar and different. Look at its fruits when it yields and its ripening. Indeed, in that are signs for a people who believe).
  • Allah also declares: (Indeed, Allah is the One who splits the seed and the date stone, He brings the living out of the dead, and He brings the dead out of the living. That is Allah; so how are you deluded?).
  • Additionally, Allah emphasizes: (Or who created the heavens and the earth and sent down for you from the heaven water, and We caused to grow thereby gardens of delightful beauty? It was not for you to grow their trees. Is there a deity with Allah? But they are a people who equate [others with Him]).
  • He also states: (And We sent down from the heaven blessed water and We produced thereby gardens and grain for harvest, and tall palm trees, with clustered fruits).
  • Allah mentions: (And We spread out the earth and placed therein firm mountains and caused to grow therein of every balanced thing).
  • Finally, Allah says: (Do they not see the earth? How much We have produced therein of every noble kind).
