Prayers for Parents

Prayers for Mothers and Fathers

  • O Allah, make my father a leader among the inhabitants of Paradise. Grant him a drink from the Prophet’s fountain and let him find shade in Your protection. May he be clothed in silk, and may Your mercy be with him. O Allah, he treated me well from the day I was born until the day of our separation. In light of this kindness, please have mercy on him, forgive him, and admit him to Paradise by Your grace, O Most Merciful. Ameen.
  • O Allah, provide them with abundant sustenance as they reach old age and face life’s end. Forgive their past sins, protect them in the time that remains, and bless them with righteous deeds that please You. Accept their repentance and grant their supplications. We seek refuge in You from reverting them to the lowest state of life. Conclude their lives with good deeds. Ameen. Help us honor them until they are pleased with us so that You may also be pleased. Strengthen our commitment to treat them with kindness in their old age.
  • O Allah, as You have commanded us to be good to our parents, we seek Your pleasure and the pleasure of our parents. Forgive and have mercy on our living and deceased parents. Make us among the ones most beloved to them and the closest of their children. Grant us the ability to ask about their well-being and remain concerned for them. Do not allow wealth, spouses, or children to distract us from them. Grant us the ability to honor them in their lives and after their passing.
  • O Allah, You are the Generous and Forgiving, who loves to forgive. Please forgive my parents. Let my mother hear the call of Paradise, saying, “Cross over, for Your light has extinguished my fire,” and let Paradise welcome her, having longed for her before seeing her. Ameen. Please keep them in Your protection and mercy.
  • O Allah, please fulfill their wishes and desires for us in this world. Let them spend their time in remembrance of You. Accept their repentance and respond to their prayers. We seek refuge from reverting them to the lowest state of life. Conclude their deeds with goodness. May my mother and father be among the seventy thousand who enter Paradise without reckoning and without suffering.
  • O Allah, O Lord of Glory and Honor, O Ever-Living and Sustainer, we call upon You by Your greatest name, which when invoked, You respond. Shower my mother with Your blessings, mercy, and sustenance. Grant her well-being so she may enjoy life. End her life with forgiveness, shielding her from the weight of sins. Protect her from all fears until she reaches Paradise, by Your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful.
  • O Allah, provide her with a stable livelihood, continuous sustenance, and righteous deeds. Grant her Paradise and the means to get closer to it through righteous deeds and speech. Keep her far from the fire and from anything that draws her near to it. Let her be among those who remember You, those who give thanks, and those who obey You. Grant them happiness through their devotion to You.
  • O Allah, grant them the ability to remember, thank, obey, and turn to You sincerely. Provide them with abundant sustenance as they age and face their final days. Forgive my parents, have mercy on them, grant them health and pardon, and honor their final resting place. Expand their entrance and cleanse them with water, snow, and coolness, purifying them from sins like a white garment is purified from dirt. Replace their abode with a better home, and grant them a family better than their own. Admit them to Paradise without reckoning and protect them from the torment of the grave. O Allah, make their grave a garden from the gardens of Paradise, and do not make it a pit from the pits of Hell. Expand their grave width for them, and illuminate it with light and joy. May they enjoy their resting place by Your mercy, O Most Merciful. Grant us their satisfaction, and we seek refuge from disobedience towards them. Ameen, Ameen, Ameen.
  • O Allah, forgive the body that carried us for nine months, enduring hardship and discomfort, sacrificing its rest for our sake, until we emerged with difficulty. O Lord, bless our mothers.
  • O Allah, let them be pleased with us. Do not let them pass from this world unless they are completely satisfied with us. Help us serve them appropriately, and make us obedient and respectful children. Grant us the ability to earn their satisfaction, and we seek refuge from causing them disappointment. Ameen.
  • O Allah, through Your blessings, mercy, and provision, provide them with health and well-being throughout their lives. Shield them from all horrors until they attain Paradise by Your grace, O Most Merciful. Do not let them have any sin except that You forgive it, nor any worry except that You relieve it. Fulfill every need they have in this world that pleases You and brings them goodness. Do not allow them to depend on anyone but You. Grant them satisfaction with our good deeds and allow their lives to be filled with remembrance of You. Provide them happiness through their piety and keep them in Your protection and mercy.
  • O Allah, grant my parents a stable livelihood, constant provision and righteous deeds. Lead them to Paradise and distance them from the fire and anything that may draw them near to it. Let them be among the ones who remember, thank, and obey You sincerely.
  • O Allah, make my parents among those who rejoice and smile, enjoying the fruits of Your Paradise, drinking from the fountain of Your Prophet, and favored by Your intercession, O Most Merciful.
  • May Allah reward my mother and father for every minute spent during their illness and every pain and struggle they faced. O Lord, make the highest paradise their home, dwelling, and refuge, and unite us with them, O Lord.
  • O Allah, do not let us be among those who disobey or abandon them. Grant us and our spouses and children the ability to honor our parents, and let our parents love our spouses and children. Make our return to our parents one that is beautiful, and do not let us be among those who raise their hands against them or raise their voices at them. O Allah, relieve any worries faced by our parents, free those in debt, and restore the health of those who are sick. Let our parents be among the happiest of the happy and do not combine for them worldly sadness with the anguish of the hereafter, through Your mercy, O Most Merciful. We implore You to bless us with a good ending and do not let us experience sorrow regarding our parents. Let us become a source of support for them after their passing with our righteousness, prayers, and charity. May we fulfill their hopes and desires for us in this world.
  • O Allah, forgive my parents and have mercy on them as they raised me while I was small. O Bestower of gifts, bestow upon my mother Your immense generosity and vast bounty that would ease her heart in worshiping, obeying You, and enjoying Your company. Grant her a long life filled with well-being in her health, religion, and let her last words in this world be, “There is no deity but Allah; Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.”
