Beautiful Prayers from the Quran

The verses of the Holy Quran are inherently beautiful, encompassing numerous supplications. Here are some notable examples:

  • (My Lord, expand for me my breast and make easy for me my task, and untie the knot from my tongue.)
  • (My Lord, admittance to a place of truth and a good departure; and grant me a supporter from Yourself.)
  • (Our Lord, grant us from among our wives and offspring comfort to our eyes and make us an example for the righteous.)
  • (Our Lord, forgive us and our brothers who preceded us in faith, and do not put in our hearts any resentment toward those who have believed. Our Lord, indeed You are Kind and Merciful.)
  • (Our Lord, do not let our hearts deviate after You have guided us and grant us from Yourself mercy. Indeed, You alone are the Bestower.)

Beautiful Prayers from the Sunnah

A multitude of prayers is documented in the Prophetic traditions, from which the following are highlighted:

  • (O Allah, I ask You for all that is good, both immediate and delayed, what I am aware of and what I am not, and I seek refuge in You from all evil, both immediate and delayed, what I am aware of and what I am not. O Allah, I ask You for the good that Your servant and prophet asked You for, and I seek refuge in You from the evil from which Your servant and prophet sought refuge. I ask You for Paradise and for whatever brings me closer to it, in word and deed, and I seek refuge in You from the Fire and whatever brings me closer to it, in word and deed, and I ask You to make every decree You have made for me good.)
  • (O Allah, I seek refuge in You from incapacity and laziness, cowardice and stinginess, old age and the torment of the grave. O Allah, grant my soul its piety, and purify it. You are the best of those who purify it; You are its Guardian and Master. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from knowledge that does not benefit, a heart that does not humbly submit, a soul that is never satisfied, and a supplication that is not answered.)
  • (O Allah, rectify my religion, which is the safeguard of my affairs; rectify my worldly life, in which is my livelihood; rectify my afterlife, to which I will return, and make life an increase for me in every good, and make death a relief for me from every evil.)
  • (O Allah, I ask You for guidance, piety, chastity, and wealth.)

Here are some general beautiful supplications:

  • There is no deity but Allah, the Sovereign, the Truth Manifest. There is no deity but Allah, the Just, the Certainty. There is no deity but Allah, our Lord and the Lord of our ancestors.
  • There is no deity except You; exalted are You! Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers.
  • There is no deity but Allah, alone without partner. To Him belongs the dominion and praise. He gives life and causes death, and He is Ever-Living and does not die. In His hand is all good, and to Him is the ultimate return, and He is capable of all things.
  • There is no deity but Allah, acknowledging His Lordship; glory be to Allah, in submission to His greatness.
  • O Allah, O Light of the heavens and the earth, O Support of the heavens and the earth, O Compeller of the heavens and the earth, O Judge of the heavens and the earth, O Inheritor of the heavens and the earth, O Owner of the heavens and the earth, O Majestic One of the heavens and the earth, O All-Knowing, O Sustainer of the heavens and the earth.
  • O Allah, You are the Most Merciful in this world and the Hereafter. O Allah, I ask You; to You belongs all praise. There is no deity but You, the Most Beneficent, the Most Generous, the Creator of the heavens and the earth, the Lord of glory and honor. By Your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful.
  • In the name of Allah, we rise and we set, and I bear witness that there is no deity except Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, and I bear witness that Paradise is true, Hell is true, the Hour is coming, there is no doubt in it, and Allah will resurrect those who are in the graves.
  • Praise be to Allah, who is sought only for His grace, and there is no provider other than Him. Allah is the Greatest; there is nothing like Him in the earth or the heavens, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing.
  • O Allah, I ask You, in my prayer and supplication, for a blessing that purifies my heart, relieves my distress, forgives my sins, rectifies my affairs, enriches my poverty, removes my evil, reveals my worries and grief, heals my sickness, settles my debts, brightens my face, O Most Merciful of the merciful.
  • O Allah, to You I have extended my hands, and in what You have, I have magnified my desire. So accept my repentance, and have mercy on my weakness, forgive my sins, accept my apology, and grant me a share of every good and a path to every goodness through Your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful.
  • O Allah, there is no guide for whom You have led astray, and no giver of what You have withheld, and no preventer of what You have given, and no extender of what You have seized, and no bringer forward of what You have delayed, and no bringer backward of what You have advanced.
  • O Allah, You are the Forebearing, so do not hasten, and You are the Generous, so do not withhold, and You are the Mighty, so do not humiliate, and You are the Protector, so do not be crossed, and You are the Helper, so do not be oppressed, and You are capable of all things.
  • O Allah, do not deprive me of the vastness of Your mercy, the abundance of Your blessings, the totality of Your health, and the generosity of Your gifts. Do not withhold Your blessings from me due to my shortcomings, and do not punish me for my wrongful deeds, and do not turn Your noble face away from me, by Your mercy O Most Merciful of the merciful.
  • O Allah, do not withhold from me while I call upon You. O Allah, I ask You, O Remover of distress, O Revealer of anxiety, O Answerer of the supplication of the distressed, O Most Merciful in this world, O Most Merciful in the Hereafter, have mercy on me in Your mercy.
  • O Allah, I submit to You, and I believe in You, and I put my trust in You, and I argue with You, and I refer my dispute to You. So forgive me for the past and the future, for what I have concealed and what I have revealed, and You are the One who brings forward and the One who brings backward.
  • There is no deity except You, the First and the Last, the Outward and the Inward. In You, I put my trust, and You are the Lord of the Great Throne. O Allah, grant my soul its piety, and purify it, for You are the best of those who purify it; You are its Guardian and Master, O Lord of the worlds.
  • O Allah, I ask You as the destitute and the poor ask, and I call upon You with the supplication of the humble and the needy. Do not make me miserable in my supplication, O My Lord, and be compassionate and merciful to me. Do not let me stray after You have guided me, and be my aid and support, my protector and supporter.
  • O Allah, cover my flaws and accept my missteps. Protect me from before me and from behind me, from my right and from my left, from above me and from below me, and do not make me among the heedless.
  • O Allah, I ask You for patience in the face of destiny, for the ranks of the martyrs, for the life of the happy, victory over the enemies, and companionship with the prophets.
