Abou Bakr Khalid Al-Jammari was born in 1968 in Rabat, Morocco. He is a renowned Moroccan journalist and banker, better known as Abou Bakr Al-Jammari. He pursued his studies at the Higher Institute of Commerce and Business Administration, earning a Master’s degree in Financial Business Administration from the University of Oxford. Additionally, he holds another Master’s degree in Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School at Harvard University.

  • In 1996, he joined the Executive Secretariat of the Economic Summit for the Middle East and North Africa as a financial advisor.
  • At the age of 29, Al-Jammari shifted to financial journalism, participating in the founding of the weekly newspaper Le Journal Hebdomadaire in Casablanca in 1997, which is published in French.
  • He was also a co-founder of an Arabic weekly newspaper in 1998, aimed at attracting a broader readership.
  • In 2007, Al-Jammari was compelled to leave Morocco, resigning from his position as publisher for both Le Journal Hebdomadaire and the Arabic weekly newspaper.
  • He ventured into academia, teaching Contemporary Middle Eastern Politics at San Diego University for nearly a year, before moving to Spain, where he worked as an independent consultant.
  • Since 2014, Al-Jammari has served as the Dean of the American Universities Institute and oversees both the Business School and external training programs for the College Institute for Study Abroad.
