Hadiths on the Virtues of Good Morals

- The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: “Whoever is granted a part of gentleness has been granted a part of goodness, and whoever is deprived of gentleness has indeed been deprived of goodness. The heaviest thing in the believer’s scale on the Day of Judgment is good character, and Allah hates the obscene and foul-mouthed.”
- The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) stated, “The person of good character will attain the status of the one who fasts and prays.”
- The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) mentioned: “Nothing is heavier on the believer’s scale on the Day of Judgment than good character, for indeed Allah dislikes the foul and obscene.”
- The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) remarked: “The closest among you to me on the Day of Judgment will be those of you with the best character. The most hated among you and the farthest from me on that Day will be the talkative, the pretentious, and the arrogant.” When asked about the arrogant, he explained that it refers to the proud.
- The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) advised: “Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should not harm their neighbor; and whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should honor their guest; and whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should speak good or keep silent.”
- The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: “A believer can attain the status of the fasting and praying person through his good character.”
- Abdullah ibn Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: “The Prophet (peace be upon him) was neither obscene nor rude. He stated that the best among you are those with the best character.”
Hadiths on Enjoining Good and Forbidding Wrong

- The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) shared: “You will be supported, and you will achieve victory, so whoever among you sees that should fear Allah, enjoin what is good, and forbid what is wrong. Whoever lies about me intentionally, let him take his seat in the Fire.”
- The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) mentioned: “Every act of glorification is a form of charity, every utterance of Allahu Akbar is a form of charity, every praise of Allah is a form of charity, and every affirmation of faith is a form of charity. Enjoining what is good is charity, forbidding what is wrong is charity, and even the act of intimacy between a husband and wife is charity.”
- The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: “Every human being from the children of Adam has 360 joints. Whoever praises Allah, glorifies Him, declares His greatness, seeks His forgiveness, removes a stone, thorn, or bone from the path of people, enjoins good, or forbids wrong, counts as fulfilling one of these 360 joints, and on that day, he walks, having saved himself from the Fire.”
- The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) stated: “A smile at your brother’s face is a form of charity, and your enjoining of good and forbidding of wrong is also a form of charity.”

- The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) advised: “Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should speak well or remain silent. And whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should honor his neighbor, and whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should honor his guest.”
- The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) stated: “Indeed, Allah is Generous and loves the generous. He is Generous and loves the acts of generosity, and He loves high morals while despising lowly conduct.”
- The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) noted: “There is no day when the servants wake up except that two angels descend, one of them says: ‘O Allah, give to the one who spends in charity a replacement,’ and the other says: ‘O Allah, give to the one who withholds his wealth destruction.’
- The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) stated: “O son of Adam, it is better for you to expend what is in excess, and to withhold it is worse for you. You are not blamed for maintaining a moderate standard, start with those you support, and the upper hand is better than the lower hand.”

Be content with what Allah has decreed for you, and you’ll be the richest of people. Love for the Muslims and believers what you love for yourself and your family, dislike for them what you dislike for yourself and your family, and you’ll be a believer. Treat your neighbors kindly, and you’ll be a Muslim. Avoid excessive laughter, for excessive laughter corrupts the heart.”
- The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was quoted saying: “Righteousness is good character, and sin is what disturbs your conscience and you dislike others knowing about it.”
Hadiths on Truthfulness

- The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) stated: “Truthfulness leads to righteousness, and righteousness leads to Paradise. A man will continue to speak the truth until he is recorded as truthful with Allah. And lying leads to wickedness, and wickedness leads to the Fire. A man will continue to lie until he is recorded as a liar with Allah.”
- The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) remarked: “Whoever gives a fatwa without knowledge, the sin is upon the one who gave him the fatwa. And whoever advises his brother regarding something while knowing that righteousness lies elsewhere has betrayed him.”
- The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) advised: “Leave what you doubt for what you do not doubt, for truthfulness is tranquility, and lying is a source of doubt.”
- The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) stated: “There are four traits that if present in you, it does not matter what you miss out on in this world: truthfulness in speech, maintaining trust, good character, and purity of sustenance.”
Hadiths on Humility

- The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) mentioned: “Charity does not decrease wealth, and Allah does not increase a servant for his forgiveness except in honor. No one humbles himself for the sake of Allah but that Allah raises him.”

- The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) conveyed: “Allah has revealed to me that you should be humble, so that no one wrongs another.”
- The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) affirmed: “No one will enter Paradise who has an atom’s weight of arrogance in his heart.” A man asked: “Indeed, a man loves that his clothes are good and his shoes are nice.” He responded: “Allah is Beautiful and loves beauty; arrogance is rejecting the truth and belittling people.”
