Morning and Evening Supplications
Every Muslim is encouraged to maintain their daily supplications, especially the morning and evening ones, which offer comfort, tranquility, and great blessings. Below is a list of these significant supplications:
- Recite Surah Al-Ikhlas and the two Mu’awwidhat (Surah Al-Falaq and Surah An-Nas) three times each. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: “(Say) He is Allah, One, and the two Mu’awwidhat when the evening comes and when the morning breaks, three times, will suffice you against everything.”
- Recite Ayat Al-Kursi.
- Say “(In the name of Allah with whose name nothing can cause harm in the earth or in the heavens, and He is the All-Hearing, All-Knowing)” three times.
- Say “(O Ever-Living, O Sustainer, I beseech Your mercy; rectify all of my affairs, and do not leave me to myself for the blink of an eye).”
- “(O Allah, I seek refuge with You from worry and sorrow, from incapacity and laziness, from miserliness and cowardice, from the burden of debt and the oppression of men).”
- “(O Allah, I ask You for pardon and well-being in this life and the Hereafter. O Allah, I ask You for pardon and well-being in my religion, my life, my family, and my wealth. O Allah, cover my weaknesses, calm my fears, protect me from in front of me, from behind me, from my right, from my left, and from above me. I seek refuge in You from being taken unaware from beneath me).”
- “(Glory be to Allah and Praise Him, the number of His creation, and pleasing to His self, and the weight of His Throne, and the ink of His words)”—to be said three times.
- “(O Allah, grant me health in my body; O Allah, grant me health in my hearing; O Allah, grant me health in my sight; there is no god but You. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from disbelief and poverty; O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the grave; there is no god but You)”—to be said three times.
- “(O Allah, Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, Creator of the heavens and the earth, Lord of everything and its Sovereign, I bear witness that there is no god but You; I seek refuge in You from the evil of my soul and the evil of Satan and his polytheism.) This should be recited in the morning, evening, and when taking rest.”
- “Say, ‘Glory be to Allah and praise Him one hundred times: No one will come on the Day of Resurrection with a better deed than what one has brought forth, except the one who says what has been said or increases upon it.’
- “(O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, good provision, and accepted deeds).”
- “(I seek forgiveness from Allah, the Almighty, who has no god but He, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of all existence, and I repent to Him).”
- “(There is no god but Allah alone, with no partner. To Him belongs the sovereignty, and to Him belongs all praise, and He is capable of everything)”—to be said ten times.
- “(We have entered the evening, and the sovereignty belongs to Allah, and all praise is due to Allah، there is no god but Allah, alone with no partner. To Him belongs the sovereignty and to Him belongs all praise, and He is capable of everything. O Lord, I ask You for the best of what this night holds and the best of what follows it, and I seek refuge in You from the evil of what this night holds and the evil of what follows it. O Lord, I seek refuge in You from laziness and the evil of old age. O Lord, I seek refuge in You from punishment in the Fire and punishment in the grave.” This should also be said in the morning: “We have entered a new day, and the sovereignty belongs to Allah).”
- The most significant form of seeking forgiveness: “O Allah, You are my Lord, there is no god but You. You created me, and I am Your servant, and I remain steadfast on Your covenant and promise as much as I can. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done. I acknowledge Your blessings upon me and acknowledge my sins; so forgive me, for none can forgive sins but You.”
- May Allah’s peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: “Whoever sends blessings upon me ten times in the morning and ten times in the evening, my intercession will reach him on the Day of Resurrection.”
- “(O Allah, in You we enter the morning, and in You we enter the evening, and in You we live, and in You we die, and to You is our return”); and when it is evening, he should say: “(O Allah, in You we enter the evening and in You we enter the morning).”
- “(O Allah, I testify before You, and I testify before Your angels, Your carriers of the Throne, and all of Your creation that You are Allah, there is no god but You, and that Muhammad is Your servant and Messenger).” This is to be said in the morning four times and in the evening, it begins with: “O Allah, I testify before You that…”.
- “(O Allah, any blessing that has been bestowed upon me or upon anyone of Your creation, it is from You alone, having no partner; to You belongs all praise and thanks. Whoever says this in the evening has fulfilled the gratitude for the day; and whoever says it similarly in the morning has fulfilled gratitude for the night).”
- “(We have entered the dawn upon the fitrah of Islam, upon the wording of sincerity, upon the religion of our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and upon the religion of our father Abraham, the hanif, Muslim, and he was not among the polytheists).” This is to be said in the evening, beginning with: “We have entered the evening upon the fitrah of Islam…”.
- “(Allah suffices me, there is no god but Him, I have placed my trust in Him, and He is the Lord of the Great Throne)”—to be said seven times.
- “(I am pleased with Allah as my Lord, with Islam as my religion, and with Muhammad (peace be upon him) as my Prophet)”—to be said three times.
- “(I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He has created)”—to be said three times.

- The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: “(Allah says: I am according to the expectation of My servant of Me, and I am with him when he remembers Me. If he remembers Me in himself, I remember him in Myself, and if he mentions Me in a group, I mention him in a group better than them, and if he draws near to Me an arm’s length, I draw near to him a fathom, and if he comes to Me walking, I go to him at speed).”
- The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: “The example of the one who remembers his Lord and the one who does not remember Him is like the living and the dead.”
- The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: “Shall I not inform you of the best of your deeds, the purest of them in the sight of your Lord, and that which raises you in status, and is better for you than spending gold and silver, and better for you than encountering your enemy and striking their necks and they strike yours? They said: Yes. He replied: The remembrance of Allah the Exalted. Muadh bin Jabal said: Nothing saves from the punishment of Allah more than the remembrance of Allah.”
