Morning Reminders for Kids

Morning Remembrances for Children

One of the key practices emphasized by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is the remembrance of Allah (the Almighty) wherever one may be. The Prophet actively demonstrated this practice in front of his esteemed companions, ensuring that it became a consistent habit for both adults and children. It is a commendable practice to commence our day with the remembrance of Allah, as it grants blessings throughout the day. Children have a remarkable capacity for retention, making it easier for them to memorize these morning remembrances. Below are some of the well-known morning supplications attributed to the Prophet (peace be upon him):

  • The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) stated: “The last two verses from Surah Al-Baqarah; whoever recites them in one night will suffice him.”
  • The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: “O Allah! You are my Lord; there is no deity but You. You created me, and I am Your servant. I stand by Your covenant and promise as best as I can. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done. I acknowledge Your blessings upon me and confess my sins; forgive me, for none forgives sins except You.”
  • The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) remarked: “Whoever says in the morning and in the evening: ‘Glory and praise be to Allah’ one hundred times will not have anyone come on the Day of Resurrection with anything better than what he has brought, except a person who has said the same as he has said or more.”
  • The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) mentioned: “No servant says every morning and evening: ‘In the name of Allah with Whose name nothing can cause harm in the earth or the heaven, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing,’ three times without anything causing him harm.”
  • The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) advised: “When you wake up, say: ‘O Allah! With Your help, we have woken up, and with Your help, we have entered the evening. With You, we live, and with You, we die, and to You is our return.’
  • The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) prayed: “O Allah, I ask You for well-being in this world and the Hereafter. O Allah, I ask You for forgiveness and well-being in my religion, my worldly affairs, my family, and my wealth. O Allah, conceal my faults and grant me peace from my fears. O Allah, protect me from in front of me, from behind me, on my right, on my left, and from above me. I seek refuge in Your grandeur from being attacked from below.”

Timing for Morning Remembrances

Our noble religion clarifies specific times for acts of worship, with morning remembrances designated for the period from dawn until the sun rises. Once the sun has fully risen, the time for reciting these remembrances concludes.
