The Children of Adam (Peace Be Upon Him)
Among the children of Adam (PBUH) are the well-known figures of Cain and Abel. It has been reported that Eve, Adam’s wife, carried in her womb a total of one hundred and twenty times or, according to another account, twenty times, giving birth to forty offspring, both male and female. Consequently, while some names of these children are known, many remain unidentified. Historical narrations indicate that Adam (PBUH) lived to see four hundred thousand descendants from his lineage.
Marriage Among the Children of Adam (Peace Be Upon Him)
Scholars have noted that Eve would give birth to both a boy and a girl during each pregnancy. The marriages were arranged such that each male would marry a female from a different pregnancy, prohibiting any union between siblings born in the same gestation. This practice was established during the prophetic era of Adam (PBUH) to aid in the growth of the human population.
