Poem: The Birth of Guidance Brings Light to Existence
Written by Ahmad Shawqi:
The birth of guidance, a luminous light for all beings,
A smile from time, a moment of praise.
With angels surrounding him in spirit,
A source of joy for both religion and worldly life.
The throne radiates joy, and the sacred grove blooms,
The final destination and the lofty sidra.
The garden of discernment, echoes of joyful melodies,
As divine revelations flow like shimmering chains.
In the heavenly tablet, exquisite ink flows,
The names of messengers written like sacred scrolls,
With the name of Muhammad gleaming like a seal of majesty.
The divine name adorned in brilliant letters,
A thousand here, with the name of Taha echoing through.
O best of those who grace existence, greetings are due,
Through your guidance, messengers have come.
The home of prophets where only the sincere dwell,
In a sanctuary that embraces the righteous.
The best of lineage chosen for you, O Adam,
Above all humanity, and Hawa is honored.
They recognized the glory of prophethood bestowed,
For in this lineage resides the ultimate dignity.
You were created for your house, which was created for you,
For great matters only fit great individuals.
Through you, God heralded the heavens, which adorned beautifully,
And the dust scattered sweet scents upon your arrival.
Your countenance, capable of dividing truth from falsehood,
Is guidance intertwined with dignity and modesty.
Your prophetic light shines brightly; it carries the grace of Abraham,
And in that light, followers bask in blessings.
The Christ praised him, and joy erupted,
On that day when the dawn of time illuminated all.
By his presence, the peak of truth stands victorious,
In sovereignty, no banner stands higher.
If religion had not emerged, it would have established itself,
Illuminating our lives with its divine light.
Your noble character adorns creation,
Captivating hearts and inspiring kindness in the generous.
As for beauty, you are the sun of its sky,
Attracting affection and admiration from friends.
The excellence and nobility you embody surpass,
What leaders and chieftains have ever possessed.
When you are generous, you reach the pinnacle of giving,
Achieving what storms cannot achieve.
If you forgive, you are full of grace and power,
And ignorance should not underestimate your forgiveness.
When you show mercy, you are a mother or father,
In this world, they are the most merciful.
And when anger arises, it is a righteous one,
Defending truth, with no malice or hatred.
When you are pleased, it aligns with divine will,
While many express dissatisfaction for show.
When you deliver, your words shake the hearts of the congregation,
Bringing forth tears from the most emotional souls.
And when you conclude, there is no doubt, as if
The opponents have received their judgment from the heavens.
Poem: How Can You Ascend Like the Prophets?
Written by Al-Busiri:
How can you rise to the elevation of the prophets,
O sky that no other sky can surpass?
They have not equaled you in your greatness,
For you brought forth brilliance beyond measure.
They embodied your attributes for mankind,
Just as stars are represented in water.
You are the lamp of all virtue; nothing illuminates,
Except by your light, all things shine forth.
You are the source of knowledge from the unseen,
From which names were revealed to Adam.
Never has a period of prophethood passed,
Without the prophets proclaiming your coming.
Time proudly bears your name and rises,
To exaltation after exaltation.
Through your lineage, an illuminated presence entered existence,
From a noble heritage of the generous.
A lineage deemed blessed in its splendor,
Comparing itself to the radiant stars.
How blessed is that bond of nobility and honor,
Where you are the distinctive pearl.
Your luminosity, akin to the sun, shines forth,
When a brilliant night unveiled your glorious birth.
The night of your birth was a day of joy,
And the dawn rejoiced with pride at your arrival.
As tidings of joy echoed forth, announcing your birth,
The arch of Khosrow itself fell into disrepair.
Had it not been for a sign from you, the structure would have persisted.
And all homes of fire within were filled
With turmoil over their fading essence.
Eyes of the Persians bore witness; could it be,
That their flames would extinguish in your presence?
Your birth was their omen, an ill fate for the disbelievers; a plague against them,
Therefore, blessed is Amina, the favored one,
Who has been honored through the lineage of Hawa!
What glory for Hawa that she bore the one
To enlighten the world, to nurture it.
On the day she gave birth to you, daughter of Wahb,
It was a pride that no other woman has ever claimed.
Angels celebrated upon your arrival,
And with her words, they provided healing.
With a raised head, that glory lifted towards every noble rank.
She gazed at the heavens, whose gaze marked the skies.
The blossoms of stars were drawn to you,
Illuminating the horizons with their light.
The palaces of Caesar appeared from the ruins,
Visible to all who dwelled in the sacred lands.
In your nurturing, miracles surfaced,
None concealed from the eyes that discern.
Poem: O Night of Birth
Written by Ibn Zakour:
O night of birth, O splendid night overshadowed,
What a delightful vigil you unveil.
God’s blessing brought joy to dissolving nights,
Illuminating them with the radiance of humanity,
The brilliance surrounding you radiates kindness.
Like a precious gem set among gems,
Dispelling darkness from the sacred path.
Through a pure soul, blessed with rare beauty,
She who is adorned with every admirable trait.
Your gentle eyes embraced the world’s grace,
Opining against the darkened days of longing.
O Prophet whose lineage sparkles in exaltation,
For whom love erases all transgressions.
With enlightening eloquence flowing from his lips,
He who uplifts us from despair and gloom.
His hands guiding those lost in the dark,
Leading them back to righteousness and faith.
Your coming was a harbinger of joy,
As angels stirred in celebration of your arrival.
Poem: Master of Messengers, The Best of All
Written by Ibn Al-Naqib:
Master of messengers, the finest to ever adorn,
Your attributes of perfection shine in both word and deed.
The night of your noble birth brings forth light,
A brightness to which none can compare.
Bow down in humble submission,
To the Creator of the heavens, as you raise your gaze.
And the stars drew near, desiring to witness,
For no one but the Prophet could command their descend.
From here, the palaces of Busrā shine from the land of Sham,
Illuminated since your essence emerged.
Khosrow’s palace itself trembled and bowed in reverence,
As he succumbed to humility and yielded.
Such was the miracle bestowed by Allah upon you,
A unique honor, loftier than the highest mount.
Poem: All Hearts Tend Towards the Beloved
Written by Ahmad ibn Muhammad Al-Taghlibi:
All hearts incline towards the beloved,
With this, I present my witness and proof.
As for the proof, whenever your name, Muhammad, is mentioned,
Tears stream down the faces of the knowing ones.
This is my declaration to you, O pride of humanity,
And my praise of you, O Messenger of God, is but a humble endeavor.
This is the Messenger of God, the Chosen One,
This is the envoy granted by the Lord of all worlds.
If I would find your kindness approaching me,
I would visit the blessed city, in beauty so serene.
O leader of the worlds, O guide of light,
Here resides the one devoted in your protection.
This is the noble Hashemite, Muhammad,
The Messenger sent forth for all of humanity.
This is he who returned sight to the blind with his hands,
When joy manifested upon the cheeks with tears.
May God’s blessings shower upon you, O guide to righteousness,
As long as the yearning one remains moved and enticed.
Poem: The One Who Sent the Prophet Muhammad
Written by the poet Jarir ibn Atiyah:
Indeed, the one who sent forth Muhammad as a prophet,
Established the leadership in the righteous Imam.
You have indeed influenced through what you restrained,
From the burdens of taxes upon the pathways.
Your justice has reached those residing in our lands,
To you, each traveler seeks their needs.
I hope for a swift goodness from you,
While the soul is captivated by the love of immediate bounties.
And Allah has decreed in scripture an obligation,
For the wayfarer and for the poor seek the provision.
Poem: A Messenger Who Came with Light and Guidance
Written by the poet Hassan ibn Thabit:
A messenger who arrived with light and divine guidance,
Compassionate towards us, guiding us toward goodness.
May the prayers of Allah be upon him while it rains,
And as long as desire flows freely through the world.
Poem: I Sacrifice My Soul for You
Written by the poet Abu Alaa Al-Maari:
I sacrifice my soul that sees no life for itself,
In the absence of your guidance, O beloved of my heart.
You are the one who, after our Creator, guided us,
And it is in your guidance that I fastened my roots.
Poem: The Letters Resist, Their Meanings Defy
Written by the poet Dr. Abbas Al-Janabi:
The letters resist, and their meanings elude,
Until I remembered you, and verses poured forth.
“Muhammad,” I uttered, and my language thrived,
As the Euphrates flowed amidst its valleys.
How can a letter find barrenness when you inspire it?
And how can a soul thirst when you are her provider?
Words bloomed, releasing fragrances from
The green dome, which envelopes them with grace.
A strong voice called, shaking the very foundations,
And the cave exploded forth with springs of wisdom.
Nations remained in darkness as long as they existed,
Had you not guided them, O Messenger of God?
You rescued them from ignorance’s shadows, leading them,
To the peaks of enlightenment, clearing their darkness.
You shine forth as a leader of guidance and knowledge,
Beaming brightly amidst its supporters.
You united faith and conviction, establishing bonds,
And who but you could inspire love amongst the united?
You were the guiding light in every trial,
A model for all, both near and far.
In the day of Badr, you routed the disbelievers,
Standing tall, above all others.
With a stone in hand, you struck their eyes,
And the battle swayed, watering its blessings.
