Wonderful Prayers

Beautiful Supplications

The act of supplication holds significant importance in the sight of Allah Almighty, and it is essential for Muslims to maintain a consistent practice of it. Below are some heartfelt supplications that one may direct to Allah:

  • O Allah, I extend my hands toward You, for my desire for Your mercy is immense. Accept my repentance, have mercy on my weakness, forgive my transgressions, accept my excuses, and grant me a share of all goodness and a path to every benevolence, by Your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful. O Allah, there is no guide for whom You have led astray, no giver for what You have withheld, no preventer for what You have granted, no extender for what You have contracted, no precursor for what You have delayed, and no later for what You have advanced. O Allah, You are the forbearing; do not hasten. You are the generous; do not withhold. You are the mighty; do not humiliate. You are the invulnerable; do not be overpowered. You are the protector; do not allow harm to come to me. Indeed, You are all-powerful over all things.
  • O Allah, do not deprive me of the vastness of Your mercy, the abundance of Your blessings, the fullness of Your health, and the bountifulness of Your gifts. Do not withhold Your bestowments from me due to my shortcomings, do not punish me for my bad deeds, and do not turn Your noble face away from me, by Your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful. O Allah, do not deny me while I call upon You, and do not disappoint me while I hope for You. O Allah, I ask You, O Reliever of distress, O Remover of grief, O Answerer of the prayers of the desperate, O Most Merciful of the worlds, grant me a mercy that will suffice me without needing any grace from anyone else, O Most Merciful of the merciful.
  • O Allah, give my soul its piety, and purify it, for You are the best to purify it. You are its guardian and protector, O Lord of the worlds. O Allah, I ask You with the supplication of the destitute and the appeal of the humbled. Do not make me wretched due to my invocation, and be compassionate and merciful towards me, O Best of those asked, O Most Generous of givers, O Lord of the worlds. O Allah, Lord of Gabriel, Michael, Israfil, and Azrael, protect me from the trials of this world, guide me toward what pleases You, and strengthen me with steadfast guidance in this life and the Hereafter. Do not mislead me after You have guided me, and be my aid, support, guardian, and helper. Ameen, O Lord of the worlds. O Allah, cover my faults, forgive my missteps, and protect me from before me, from behind me, from my right and from my left, from above me and from below me, and do not make me among the heedless.
  • O Allah, I implore You for patience in times of judgment, for the ranks of martyrs, for the life of the blessed, for victory over enemies, for companionship with the prophets, for entry into Paradise, and for salvation from the Fire, O Lord of the worlds.
  • O Allah, I ask You, O Exalter of degrees, O Bestower of blessings, O Creator of the heavens and the earth! I ask You, O Allah, to whom voices call in a multitude of languages seeking their needs, do not withhold my need from me in this world of distress; when the people of the world forget me, do not hold my sins against me, forgive me by Your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful.
  • Glory be to Him who is exalted above all things, whose attributes are free from resemblance to any likeness, unique without deficiency, existing without cause. He is known by His grace, and described by His kindness; known without an endpoint and described without limitation. He is the First without a beginning and the Last without an end. No children are attributed to Him, and the passage of time does not diminish Him. All creatures fall short before His greatness, and His command is between “be” and “not be.” Through His remembrance, the sincere find peace; in His vision, eyes are delighted. Through His Oneness, the monotheists rejoice. He guides those who obey Him to His straight path and grants His beloved the Gardens of Delight. He knows the number of breaths of His creatures by His eternal knowledge, sees the movements of ants in the darkness of night, and is praised by birds in their nests, glorified by the wild in their wilderness. He encompasses the actions of mankind, both in secret and in the open, and He supports the believers with His aid and victory. Hearts find serenity in His remembrance, and relief from pain occurs. Among His signs is that the heavens and the earth stand in accordance with His command, encompassing all knowledge, and He forgives the sins of Muslims with generosity and patience. Nothing is comparable to Him, and He is All-Hearing, All-Seeing.

The Status of Supplication with Allah

Allah Almighty has guided His servants in His Holy Book to consistently engage in prayer, as evidenced by the following blessed verses:

  • Allah says: (Invoke your Lord in humility and privately; indeed, He does not like transgressors. And do not corrupt the earth after its reformation. And invoke Him in fear and aspiration. Indeed, the mercy of Allah is near to the doers of good).
  • Allah says: (And your Lord says, “Call upon Me; I will respond to you.” Indeed, those who disdain My worship will enter Hell, contemptible).
  • Allah says: (Is He not best who answers the desperate one when he calls Him and removes evil and makes you successors on earth? Is there a deity with Allah? Little do you remember).
  • Allah says: (And when My servants ask you concerning Me, indeed, I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me. So let them respond to Me and believe in Me that they may be guided).

Places and Times for Answered Supplications

There are specific places and times when Allah Almighty is most likely to respond to a Muslim’s prayer, including the following:

  • The supplication of a righteous child, as the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: (When a human being dies, his acts cease except for three: ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who prays for him).
  • The prayer of a traveler, as the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) stated: (Three supplications are undoubtedly answered: the supplication of the oppressed, the supplication of the traveler, and the supplication of a parent for their child).
  • The supplication of the distressed, for Allah says: (Is He not best who answers the desperate one when he calls Him and removes evil).
  • The prayer of a Muslim for his brother in his absence, as the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) stated: (The supplication of a Muslim for his brother in his absence is responded to; by his head is an angel appointed, whenever he asks for good for his brother, the angel says, “Ameen, and for you likewise”).
  • Supplication in the last third of the night, as the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: (Our Lord descends every night to the nearest heaven when the last third of the night remains, saying, “Who invokes Me, that I may answer him? Who asks of Me, that I may give him? Who seeks My forgiveness, that I may forgive him?).
  • The prayer of the oppressed, as the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) stated: (The supplication of the oppressed is answered, even if he be a wrongdoer; his wrongdoing is only upon himself).
  • The one who frequently remembers Allah, as he (peace be upon him) stated: (Three people’s supplications are not rejected: the one who remembers Allah abundantly, the oppressed, and the equitable ruler).
