Poem: Fate Flows According to Your Aspirations
Fate flows in accordance with your wishes,
As if they are your desires and aspirations.
For those whom divine care has chosen,
Events unfold as they prefer.
O son of noble lineage,
You possess a legacy that is akin to carpentry.
With pure traits and deep knowledge,
And a distinguished status that brings pride.
And virtues that revive virtues in the community,
Like the sea from which abundant rains pour.
It nourishes barren lands, bringing forth
Beauty that pleases and yields fruits.
A legacy of glory that shines for all,
These are the towering domes and fortified walls.
And achievements that shine like rays,
These are the suns and the moons.
And creations adorned in beauty,
These are the gardens and flowers.
On this day of your splendid wedding,
Generations have envied you, from ages past.
The majesty of Egypt witnessed a miraculous joy,
Forever spoken of by the storytellers.
Since the time of Ishmael, none have seen its like,
Nor have the nations heard of its grandeur.
It unites ancient and modern tales,
Maintaining a rich narrative to remember.
A contest of honor where the noble gather,
In it reside the treasures of time and history.
Where all novelties attain completion,
It is as if the world has taken residence there.
Congratulations to you, O Umar, son of the generous Sultan,
As the night transforms into a tranquil day.
Bestowed upon you from the sky of its purity,
A sun that humbles the eyes beneath it.
From a house of grandeur you departed, yet embraced it,
A house that nourishes its glory for generations to come.
Poem: O Purity, Daughter of the Khoury Family
O Purity, daughter of the Khoury family,
A wish for joy, both in dawn and dusk.
As if you are, O bride of poetry, crafted,
And created from a blend of dew and light.
Every beauty found in you refuses to suffer,
Resemblance to any eye or heavenly beauty.
Nor shall I compare you to a maiden,
In fairness of thought and pure heart.
Your face shines like dawn, displaying clarity,
Revealing the depths of the soul.
And your words reflect your character,
Like a breeze revealing sweet fragrances.
Sometimes, the gentle branch shies away,
Blossoming delicately in its demeanor.
I believe you were created without flaw,
For your existence was met without reproach.
I strive, in simple words, to describe you,
For you possess abundant grace and virtue.
And within me lies a treasure beyond measure,
A gift that surpasses the beauty of the finest jewels.
Truly, you deserve the utmost honor,
From a noble essence with lofty sentiments.
And even if he is not bold,
His noble spirit adorns every courteous soul.
A youth of noble lineage and proud heritage,
Yet not in arrogance or disdain.
Far-reaching in pursuits of glory,
Where the esteemed hold importance on their journey.
And what you desire are but lofty ambitions,
With aspirations beyond the ordinary.
Gentle in nature, your youth blossoming,
Exuding the virtues of a great individual.
So may God bless the weddings of joy,
And may your union shine like a radiant moon.
O my moon, in our gathering, congratulations,
May your marriage always be filled with happiness.
Showering blessings, tranquil and warm,
Throughout the days in a flow of joy.
May the beauty of your happiness grow grand,
With a righteous lineage and abundant blessings.
Poem: Merchant of Treasures and Priceless Items
O merchant of treasures and precious things,
From woven threads and silks so fine,
You are indeed remarkable among maidens,
Like a unique era amidst barren times.
And is there any surprise like a shop,
That appears like the rising moon of night?
By your beauty, markets are adorned,
And lavish palaces left empty.
Your home is a sanctuary of noble leaders,
Rich in dignity and legacy.
In you resides the beauty of a noble maiden,
Unrivaled in the cost of bridal dowries.
They claim that commerce invites iniquity,
Alleging greed and shamelessness.
But you possess qualities that refute,
The attributes of virtuous beings, both good and greater.
How many misconceptions have you dismantled,
With the cloak of purity against wickedness?
Your presence commands respect and admiration,
And not a single whisper of indecency echoes.
Therefore, you trade with a noble purpose,
Pouring generosity from the rich to the poor.
How many acts of charity have you performed,
Eliminating doubts raised by the jealous?
Indeed, the market is a fortress,
A sanctuary for the virtuous like a hidden realm.
O daughter of the era, what dangers exist,
When there is no dread of harmful deeds?
You have shattered the chains, without concern,
Except for the chain of virtue in your path.
And you aspire in life towards noble goals,
Which appear daunting to many skilled individuals.
Yet you do not consider yourself above,
The judgment of the mighty or the small.
Nor do you look down upon the shop’s worth,
In comparison to grand palaces and kings.
Indeed, I swear to you, purity is the only shield,
Except for the honor of traits and conscience.
And which seeker of glory among the people,
Is only blemished by their failures?
Poem: To You, O Walid, Salutations of the Free
To you, O Walid, salutation from the free,
Like the greetings of paradise and birds.
Your face shone with purity and splendor,
As time is refreshed and spring awakens.
Markings of beauty that have never shown,
Fortune in you nor yet undertaken promises.
If a house of nobility were your origin,
The world would acclaim you for your virtue.
People would hope that you receive rewards for your respect,
Those signs in the heavens and earth.
You were born as fate allowed, without knowledge,
That no one can foresee the future’s decree.
Now you bear the title, son of a noble mother,
Celebrated among the people waiting to be known.
This day, the future reveals,
A wandering soul among the lost.
Or perhaps a star that transcends among the luminaries,
What wisdom of the Almighty will unfold?
Is it a second among the crowd, or the first?
If you ascend to a position of leadership,
Remember that even Jesus was once a child in a cave.
What is more deserving than the accolades earned through virtue,
What you have achieved through excellence and benevolence.
What claim should matter, father or lineal ties?
What signifies that when your essence defines you?
And happy is the parent who celebrates your existence,
Elated to see that you are a progeny of greatness.
So may all celebrants rejoice,
For joy comes only from you, whether in honor or disdain.
May they wish for your well-being, even if you do not thrive,
What parents do not dream for their child’s future?
Children’s aspirations mirror those of their ancestors,
Which fate can dictate in the journey of life.
For it is the one supreme who elevates the presence,
And it is He who brings down the humble into obscurity.
If it is destined, the child arrives at his appointed time,
With those embracing at home welcoming the birth.
If the call changes, and fate delays,
The light remains ever bright as a torch in the night.
Indeed, your coming dispels our regrets,
And brings joy to your parents’ hearts.
As gardens reveal their splendors and beauty,
Bursting forth in happiness and delight.
Everyone beams joyfully with you in their embrace,
Stretching their hands to receive you.
A mother nourishes her child from her breast,
And the earth yields her fruits for the mother.
O parents, what shall prevent the blooming flowers,
Should they be content with their creation?
Who among them brought such nourishment to bear,
For they have perhaps woven this bond to thrive.
Does the bird in the trees not rejoice with song,
As that rainbow-crested swan sings its praise?
And do breezes disparage their gentle whispers,
As if they are ashamed of the gentle touch to the blooming melodies?
For who cast shadows upon the works of humanity,
Seeking purity amidst the vices and seeming trials?
They have indulged without restraint or direction,
Only to entangle themselves in shadows, tainted not by light.
O Child, open your eyes to a world that may seem dark,
Know that before your birth, challenges may have edged closer.
This is the curse one has just before birth,
A malice conceived by deliberate minds.
Yet, perhaps the Almighty desires to promote you
Amidst the crowds, leading you towards abundance.
Keep but a watchful eye, filled with clarity,
So you may welcome grace through the ages that turn.
Your coming healed our deepest sadness,
And adorned the eyes of your parents with joy.
As gardens unveil their resplendent wonders,
Revealing the beauty of life in full bloom.
