Prayers Before the Exam

Prayers Before Exams

Prayers from the Sunnah

It is not appropriate to specify prayers exclusively for exams, as such mentions are not found in the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). A Muslim is encouraged to address Allah (SWT) with any supplication fitting their needs. Below are some general prayers from the Sunnah that can be recited in various situations, including before taking exams:

  • (O Allah, there is no ease except what You have made easy, and You make hardship easy if You wish).
  • (O Living, O Sustainer, I seek Your mercy).
  • (There is no deity except You; Glory be to You, indeed I have been among the wrongdoers).
  • (O Allah, I am Your servant, the son of Your servant, the son of Your maidservant. My forelock is in Your hand; Your decree is carried out upon me; Your judgment upon me is just. I ask You by every name that is Yours, which You have named Yourself, or revealed in Your Book, or taught to any of Your creation, or have kept to Yourself in the knowledge of the unseen, that You make the Quran the spring of my heart, the light of my chest, the dispeller of my sadness, and the removal of my worries).
  • (O Allah, I seek refuge in You from anxiety and sorrow, and I seek refuge in You from incapacity and laziness; and I seek refuge in You from cowardice and miserliness. I also seek refuge in You from the burden of debt and the oppression of men).
  • (There is no deity except Allah, the Lord of the Mighty Throne; there is no deity except Allah, the Majestic, the Forbearing; there is no deity except Allah, the Lord of the heavens and the earth, and the Lord of the Mighty Throne; there is no deity except Allah, the Lord of the Noble Throne).
