Verses for Protection from the Evil Eye, Envy, and Magic.

Verses for Protection from Envy, Malice, and Sorcery

The Holy Quran contains verses that serve as a means of protection against jealousy, malice, and sorcery. Below are these verses:

  • (Allah! There is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great.)
  • (And Pharaoh said, “Bring to me every skilled sorcerer.” So when the sorcerers came, Moses said to them, “Throw down whatever you will throw.” And when they had thrown, Moses said, “What you have brought is only magic. Indeed, Allah will invalidate it. Indeed, Allah does not amend the work of corruptors. And Allah will establish the truth by His words, even if the criminals dislike it.)
  • (They said, “O Moses, either you throw or we will be the first to throw.” He said, “Rather, you throw.” And when their ropes and staffs appeared to him as though they were moving fast, Moses felt within himself apprehension. We said, “Fear not, indeed, you are the superior. And throw what is in your right hand; it will swallow what they have crafted. What they have crafted is only the trick of a magician, and the magician will not succeed wherever he goes.)
  • (By the those lined up in rows, and the ones who drive away the evil, and the ones who recite the reminder. Indeed, your God is One, Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them and Lord of the Easts. Indeed, We have adorned the nearest heaven with an adornment of stars and protection from every rebellious devil. They cannot listen to the exalted assembly and are pelted from every side, driven away, and for them is a punishment lasting. Except for one who snatches a fragment and is pursued by a burning flame.)
  • (Say, “He is Allah, [who is] One, Allah, the Eternal Refuge. He neither begets nor is born, nor is there to Him any equivalent.”)
  • (Say, “I seek refuge in the Lord of daybreak from the evil of that which He created, and from the evil of darkness when it settles, and from the evil of the blowers in knots, and from the evil of an envier when he envies.”)
  • (Say, “I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind, the King of mankind, the God of mankind, from the evil of the retreating whisperer – who whispers in the breasts of mankind – of jinn and mankind.”)

Hadiths for Protection against Envy, Malice, and Sorcery

Here are several hadiths regarding protection from jealousy and malice:

  • (I seek refuge with the perfect words of Allah from every devil and venomous creature, and from every envious eye.)
  • (In the name of Allah, with whose name nothing is harmed on earth or in the heavens, and He is the Hearing, the Knowing. [Recite this three times.])
  • (I seek refuge in Allah, the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing, from the accursed devil from his whispers, his blowing, and his poisonous breaths.)

Supplications for Protection from Envy, Malice, and Sorcery

Below are some supplications for safeguarding oneself from envy and malice:

  • In the name of Allah, I seek protection for myself from everything that harms me, from the evil of every envious person, and from every harmful soul. I invoke Allah to heal me, for whatever Allah wills happens, and whatever He does not will does not happen. There is no power nor strength except with Allah. I ask Allah, the Great, Lord of the Mighty Throne, to heal you and all the ill among the Muslims.
  • O Allah, protect me, the Best of Protectors, from all evil, from jealousy and envy, and keep me under your protection and safety, O Most Merciful of the merciful.
  • O Allah, turn away from me everyone who intends harm against me, occupy them with their own selves, and restrain their hands.
  • O Allah, I know that nothing has afflicted me except what You have decreed for me, and I do not fear anyone among Your creation as long as You are with me. So keep me safe and guard me.
  • O Allah, I entrust you with my affairs; You are sufficient for me and the best disposer of affairs. O Allah, remove every ailment that has afflicted my body and thwart the schemes of every envious eye fixated upon my sustenance, and protect me from the harm of envious beings.
  • O Allah, do not let my soul be hateful or envious. Grant me satisfaction and contentment, and do not allow me to extend my gaze towards others. Provide me with what You have bestowed upon me, O Most Merciful of the merciful.
  • In the name of Allah, I invoke protection upon myself, upon my family, upon my wealth, and upon everything that my Lord has given me.
  • In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, my companion, and may He guard me from all that harms me.
  • O Allah, bless me in what You have provided me, divert from me the evil of the wicked, the schemes of the immoral, and the calamities of night and day.
