Brow Bleaching
Many women take great care in maintaining their eyebrows, as they enhance the beauty of the face. Those who are mindful of their hair color often choose to dye their eyebrows to match their hair. Occasionally, when women dye their hair, the color doesn’t align with their natural brow shade. This situation leads them to consider the process known as brow bleaching.
Tools Needed for Brow Bleaching
- Brow bleaching kit.
- Herbal peroxide, with a concentration of 4% to 6%.
- Vaseline.
- Black or brown dye.
- Brow pencil.
- Q-tips.
- Medical cotton.
- mascara brush.
- Small scissors.
Steps for Brow Bleaching
- In a small bowl, mix the components of the bleaching kit with peroxide until it achieves a creamy texture.
- Brush the eyebrow hairs and trim any long strands using the small scissors, ensuring that they are uniform in length for a tidy appearance.
- Use the brow pencil to outline the desired shape of your eyebrows, ensuring that the bleaching cream is applied within these boundaries. A regular eyeliner pencil can also be helpful.
- Apply Vaseline around the eyebrow area; this will protect the skin from irritation and the heat of the bleaching agent.
- Use a Q-tip to apply the bleaching cream around the brows, leaving it on for twenty minutes. Then, use medical cotton to gently wipe away the bleach, as its softness is suitable for the skin. After washing your face, reapply Vaseline to prevent irritation around the eyelid area.
- Next, use the dye to enhance your eyebrows and leave it on for thirty minutes before rinsing your face with water. For beginners, it’s advisable to outline the brows with either a white or black eyeliner, carefully applying the dye within the lines using a Q-tip. If you stray outside the lines, continue with the application, as any mistakes can be corrected later with the bleach.
- If the tips of your brows turn yellow or orange, address this by applying more bleach or dye. Once corrected, leave the dye on for an additional thirty minutes before rinsing your face.
- For those experienced in brow bleaching, follow the same steps, but apply the dye to the eyebrow first, letting it sit for ten minutes. After this, apply Vaseline and then apply the bleaching cream to the dyed hair ends to achieve a new, thicker brow shape; the bleaching agent can correct any prior dyeing mistakes.
Tips Before Brow Bleaching
- Avoid bleaching your brows if your skin is irritated or inflamed, as well as during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
- Conduct a patch test for skin sensitivity to the dye before applying the bleaching agent. Apply a small amount of dye to your arm to assess any reactions. If there are no adverse effects, proceed with use. If you notice any negative reactions, discontinue use and seek a more suitable product for your skin type.
