Olive Oil
Olive oil remains stable in stomach acid and may assist in combating Helicobacter pylori. A study revealed its significant antibacterial activity against eight different strains of this bacterium, including three strains that are resistant to antibiotics.
Fruits and Vegetables
Fruits and vegetables are rich in fiber, which can alleviate ulcer pain and symptoms of gastritis. Notably fiber-rich fruits include raspberries, pears, and peaches. Among vegetables, peas, broccoli, spinach, sweet potatoes, and artichokes are particularly beneficial. Additionally, these foods are packed with antioxidants that enhance the body’s ability to resist infections and promote healing. Furthermore, apples, cranberries, garlic, onions, and celery contain flavonoids known to inhibit the growth of Helicobacter pylori. Broccoli Sprouts
Broccoli sprouts are rich in sulforaphane, a compound shown to effectively kill Helicobacter pylori. A study found that broccoli sprouts reduced intestinal inflammation in mice infected with this bacterium.
Green Tea
Green tea may help eliminate or slow the growth of Helicobacter pylori. Consuming it prior to infection has been reported to decrease gastric inflammation, while drinking it during an infection can lessen the severity of inflammation, according to a study conducted on mice.
